Spotted redshank in summer plumage, in winter they have a grey back and paler under parts.

Usually found around the coast south of Yorkshire, it breeds across northern Scandinavia and migrates south to Britain, France and Africa for the winter.

Conservation status is amber, about 100 birds stay over winter
